The short version: our calculators run in your browser and your numbers never reach us. We only receive what you choose to send through the contact form. Advertising partners such as Google may use cookies, and you can control that.
1. Introduction & who we are
PayoutCalc ("PayoutCalc", "we", "us" or "our") operates the website https://payoutcalc.netlify.app (the "Site"), which offers free fee and profit calculators for e-commerce sellers, digital creators and freelancers. PayoutCalc is run by a small independent team led by founder Saqib Aziz, who is the controller of any personal data described in this policy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Site, how it is used, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Information we collect
No accounts
You do not need to register, sign in or create an account to use any PayoutCalc calculator, and we do not ask for your name, address or payment details to use the tools.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser
All calculations are performed by JavaScript running on your own device. The prices, costs, fees and margins you enter are never transmitted to our servers. To make the Site more convenient, a small amount of information is saved in your browser's localStorage, which stays on your device and is not sent to us:

You can remove this data at any time by clearing site data or local storage in your browser settings, or reset a calculator to its default values with its Reset button.
Contact form
If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic and message you provide, together with your consent confirmation. Form submissions are processed and stored by our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., through its Netlify Forms service, and delivered to us so we can reply. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use this information only to respond to you, fix reported issues and improve the Site. We never sell it.
3. Log files
Like most websites, the Site is served by a hosting provider (Netlify) that automatically records standard server log information when pages are requested. This may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring and exit pages, the pages requested, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, diagnose technical problems and understand aggregate usage. It is not used to identify you personally.
4. Cookies & web beacons
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Web beacons (also called pixels or tags) are small pieces of code that allow a page to record that it has been viewed. PayoutCalc itself does not set cookies for its calculators; it uses localStorage as described above. However, third parties that provide advertising or embedded services on the Site may set cookies and use web beacons, as explained in the next section.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies will not stop the calculators from working, although some advertising features may behave differently.
5. Google AdSense & the DoubleClick DART cookie
The Site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. In connection with this:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies such as cookies, JavaScript and web beacons in their advertisements and links that appear on the Site, which are sent directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens, and may use these technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertising and to personalise the ads you see. PayoutCalc has no access to or control over these cookies. Please consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more information about their practices and for instructions on how to opt out. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites.
6. Consent in the EEA, UK & Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies or personalised advertising are used. When advertising goes live on the Site, consent will be collected through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) that supports the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You will be able to accept, reject or customise your choices, and change them later through the privacy settings link provided by the CMP. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads that rely on limited or no cookies, where permitted.
7. GDPR rights & legal bases
If the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for personalised advertising cookies and for handling contact form submissions you choose to send (you may withdraw consent at any time).
- Legitimate interests — for server logs used to operate, secure and improve the Site, and for replying to direct emails.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format or have it transferred to another controller.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling for direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in the Contact section. We will respond within one month, and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. CCPA / CPRA rights (California residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the right to:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
PayoutCalc does not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by partners such as Google may be considered "sharing" under California law. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: to opt out, email us at saqib.aziz1000@gmail.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share", and you can also use Google Ads Settings and the opt-out tools listed above. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
9. Children's information
The Site is intended for adults running online businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Third-party links
The Site contains links to external websites, such as marketplace seller centers and fee pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
11. Data security & retention
The Site is served over HTTPS, and because calculator inputs never leave your device, there is very little personal data for us to protect. Contact form submissions are stored within our Netlify account and our email inbox, both protected by access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold.
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the conversation, generally no longer than 24 months, after which they are deleted. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider according to its own retention schedule. Data in your browser's localStorage remains until you clear it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we enable advertising or add new features. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
